May 26, 2022 marks the 1st anniversary since the launch of DuBlasé whiskey. Instead of a big celebration, company Founder and CEO Darrin Eakins decided to sit with our team for reflections. We discussed a myriad of topics ranging from expansion to the success of dealing with supply chain obstacles. “The round table discussion left us inspired. Knowing what we were up against when we started, to see what we have accomplished in a short amount of time is truly remarkable” said one team member from our PR/Marketing department.

Team members from our Production department shared what it was like having supply chain hurdles and how the company rallied around them for support. “The pandemic created a shortage in everything. Materials were scarce and prices were going up. Then here comes Mr. Eakins with his suit, a smile, and a readiness to get the answers we needed” one member reflected.

Our CEO shared how he was so proud of the team’s hard work in helping us achieve such significant business growth and brand recognition over the past year. He continued “The consumer’s support of our brand has been nothing short of amazing. I want to thank each of you for your efforts in ensuring our consumers get our very best. DuBlasé Whiskey Collaborates With the Jacksonville Jaguars For Annual NPHC Greek Football Tailgate at TIAA Bank Field Stadium

DuBlasé whiskey recently collaborated with the NFL Jacksonville Jaguars and First Coast NPHC to sponsor the NPHC Tailgate event at the TIAA Bank Field Stadium earlier this month on Sunday, Jan. 9th, 2022 from 10AM to 12:30PM. We are pleased to announce that hundreds of attendees showed up and showed out representing their organizations and the Jaguars. It was a great event featuring some of Jacksonville's finest professionals, sports fans and Greek members.

Attendees across the First Coast enjoyed themselves, strolling, dancing and safely mingling with one another throughout the event. The game officially kicked off at 1PM, in which the Jaguars played the Indianapolis Colts. As if the day couldn’t get any better, the Jaguars defeated the Colts, 26 - 11 in their final game of the season! 

DuBlasé's team was in attendance all day to celebrating football, friends, brotherhood and sisterhood with the toast of a glass of premium DuBlasé whiskey. DuBlasé CEO Brings Christmas Cheer to Jacksonville Family of Six with Gift Donations

DuBlasé whiskey founder and CEO, Darrin Eakins, collaborated with Jacksonville’s KIPP Voice Academy to donate Christmas presents to a local family with six kids this holiday season via a new charitable company initiative called “Christmas Kindness.” 

A private ceremony took place with the KIPP Voice Academy’s leadership, the family and DuBlasé’s founder/CEO to present the charitable holiday gift donations. “I believe it’s important to prioritize charity work and community involvement throughout Jacksonville. Giving back is a core focus of our company culture at DuBlasé and this initiative is something we plan to do annually moving forward,” said Eakins, who was raised in Jacksonville.

‘Tis the season to give according to Eakins. “This city has done so much for me over the years and I believe it’s only right that I give back. As a small, black-owned business, we’ve been blessed to achieve great success thanks to many local supporters and now we’re paying it forward,” Eakins said.

DuBlasé founder and CEO Darrin Eakins has been named 2021 Top 20 Under 40 by the Florida Black Expo. The nominees were comprised of various movers, shakers, innovators, bosses, entrepreneurs, activists and king makers throughout the state of Florida that have exhibited talent, gifts and leadership. Those featured are agents for change, policy creators, technology developers and people helpers. Some have helped their corporations make millions, and others are on their way to make billions. Those chosen have exemplified the ability to change the world at local, national and global levels.

Eakins, a local rising star was nominated based on his business success, leadership skills, community involvement and the impact of his service in the city of Jacksonville. The Trustees are a select group of the Chamber’s leadership core members who are business executives and professionals in Northern Florida across Duval, Clay, St. John’s and Nassau County. “It’s an honor to be a trustee with the Chamber and to help build a more vibrant and thriving community. I’m looking forward to connecting and working with Jacksonville’s top business leaders on programs that will be a beacon of growth throughout the First Coast,” said Eakins.

As a Millennial and minority business professional, Eakins joins the Chamber of Commerce with a diverse entrepreneurial and technical background in engineering, spirits, and sports & entertainment. “This is a significant milestone for me. The Origin of DuBlasé and the Meaning Behind the Brand Name

Many know that the origin of whiskey is over 1,000 years old and distillation was brought to the Western Hemisphere when the great migration took place in the early 18th century. 

Fast forward to 2021, both casual drinkers and connoisseurs alike have a variety of whiskey brands to choose from. As the industry has evolved, so has the rise and acknowledgement of black-owned spirits. That brings us to our premium brand of DuBlase Whiskey: a new 6X distilled, Florida-grown, smooth flavored whiskey that has been drawing a lot of attention and inquiry since it’s initial launch earlier this year. 

You may be curious about where the name “DuBlase'' came from? What is the origin story behind the brand?

“What does it mean and how is it pronounced,” many ask. 

Let’s delve in: DuBlase, pronounced Du - bläˈ - sí, has a personal and heartfelt backstory that we’re proud to share with our customers. 

Our founder and CEO, Darrin Eakins, came up with the brand name related to the college Greek-life he experienced at Florida A&M University in Tallahassee, FL.

The original name, "Golden Age Whiskey," was created based on the brand’s parent company Golden Age Innovations. But was quickly changed to be more personal and reflective of himself. Eakins decided to rename his whiskey after his “Line Number” of his fraternity at Florida A&M University. If you aren’t familiar with fraternities and sororities of the Divine 9, let us break some of the culture down for you. The term “line” comes from when fraternities and sororities debuts a new group of members, the group is often referred to as a line. The number comes form the new member’s numerical order in the group. When he became a member, there were 12 members on his line, which debuted in the spring of 2008, Eakins was number 11. In fraternity and sorority culture, the term "Ace" usually means the number 1 or 1st member on the line, and "Double Ace" would be the number 11 or 11th member on the line. As an ode and dedication to his line number, DuBlase was born from reformatting the phrase "Double Ace."

To add a special touch, Eakins incorporated a black medallion in the middle of the DuBlase label design, which represents 12 edges for each member of his line, who helped inspire the spirit of the DuBlase brand.
